SKG Shares Story of Survival in Memoir The Monster Within

Rapper, author, and entrepreneur Helecia “SKG” Choyce has released The Monster Within, a deeply personal memoir about surviving trauma and reclaiming her voice. The book is available through Amazon and Barnes & Noble.

In the memoir, the former Death Row Records artist recounts her experiences of kidnapping, physical abuse while pregnant, and alleged extortion involving a powerful Los Angeles music executive. Told in her own words, the book examines the emotional and psychological impact of those events and the strength it took to move forward.

“This book represents truth, survival, and the courage to speak even when the odds are against you,” said SKG. “I hope readers who have experienced trauma, abuse, or adversity will know they are not alone and that healing is possible.”

Known for her contributions to hip-hop, including her work with Tupac Shakur, SKG now uses her voice to advocate for resilience and empowerment. Through this memoir, she hopes to encourage others to break their silence and turn pain into purpose.

The Monster Within is available in paperback, hardcover, and digital formats through Amazon and Barnes & Noble.
